ABSTRACT

Empowering women and improving their status are essential to realizing the economic, political and social development. In a recent research about women shows the reason of women illiteracy is due to poverty, early marriage, home-school distance, lack of congenial environment in school, lack of security, failure in examination, domestic work, non-availability of school uniforms, expenses for school supplies, gender disparity in curricula, lack of encouragement from parents and other members of the family. The term empowerment covers a vast landscape of meanings, interpretations, definitions, and disciplines ranging from psychology, literacy, and philosophy to the highly commercialized self-help industry and motivational sciences.
