Coronary heart disease is complicated with diabetes mellitus along with declined insulin sensitivity or insulin resistance, weakened blood pressure regulating ability, damage to vascular endothelial cells, dysfunction of the fibrinolytic system and increased sterile inflammatory responses, all of which are indicators of disease progression and poor prognosis.
